Iris and Kirk were married at the swanky Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco, specifically at the “Top of the Mark” Restaurant, a location doubly meaningful to Bay Area swing dancers.

The weather started off beautifully, affording tremendous views from the famed restaurant. After all, being on the 19th floor of a building that’s already on one of San Francisco’s famously tall hills usually implies a distinct lack of…let’s say, optical obstructions.

That led us to choose a corner there for Iris & Kirk’s first viewing. Then we got a number of bridal party shots in before the ceremony started, during which the City’s infamous fog rolled in and gave us “white out” conditions outside.

Of course, that had no bearing on the beautiful ceremony taking place inside. And after their first kiss as husband and wife were met with boisterous cheers and applause, the happy couple set about getting their family portraits done before everyone headed downstairs to the Room of the Dons for the wedding reception.

There, we were privileged to hear a ton of heartfelt speeches and toasts, full of wonderful stories extolling the love felt by and towards the lovely couple. Then the dancing ensued, and soon our ears were graced by the dulcet tones of Kim Nalley and her band.

Throughout the entire day, Iris and Kirk were the epitome of class, exhibiting great patience and enthusiasm for snatching “idle” time for quick sets of sometimes spontaneous photos. They planned their day to the “T”, and allowed for extra time between events, which meant we had plenty of opportunities for fun, creative photos.
