Patty & Edo & Sammy – family portraits

We had the pleasure of shooting our friend Kay’s dear friend, Patty & Edo’s family portraits recently.

They just recently had a new addition — little Sammy, who was as cute as can be.

We made use of their comfy living room as well as their fruit tree-filled backyard for some cool, relaxed portraits of the entire clan.

Patty & Edo — Sammy’s just simply adorable!

Christine and Jeff’s Wedding | Caffe Verbena | Oakland

As promised yesterday, here are the teasers from Christine and Jeff’s Wedding this past Saturday.

Stormy Weather

Christine and Jeff could not have planned their day more perfectly even if they could have picked the weather. All kidding aside,the weather did clear up long enough for the beautiful outdoor ceremony and the wind was the perfect prop to add a few exciting moments 🙂
Christine was radiant in her beautiful wedding gown, complemented by her bouquet of yellow daffodils (which were matched by the gowns of her bridesmaids). The elegant and classy color scheme really brightened the gray from the overcast skies.

Caffe Verbena

Caffe Verbena’s amazing wall of windows let the gorgeous afternoon light in for the party that unfolded. There were wonderful speeches, an unofficial contest to see which guest table was the loudest, bouquet and garter toss, and of course, dancing into the night!

Seeing old friends

One of the best reasons why we love shooting weddings is being able to form relationships over the years with wonderful people. Time and again, we’re called upon to capture the memories of people in love, and through referrals, we get to see old friends galore!
In the bridal party was Matt the best man, as well as Carol and Jon. And we saw even more friends amongst the guests!

Celebration of Love

We know that Christine and Jeff have loving parents and friends and they celebrated into the night.
A wedding is a time that is shared with good friends, family and loved ones and Christine and Jeff had that in quantity!
We hope the images bring back memories for a lifetime and are grateful to have been there to witness their day.

Christine and Jeff Engagement Portraits – UC Berkeley

Bicycles.

There are those that live for them.

You can tell because they have collapsible bicycles that they can carry anywhere. Case in point: Christine and Jeff. They are AVID bicycle enthusiasts. Not only are they in great shape, but we thought a few shots with their bikes added to the fun-factor.

That said, their photos is a perfect example of how job is filled with improv and ad libs.

The original plan was to go to the Berkeley marina. But serious winds curtailed that plan, and so we went to the Berkeley campus instead. It was was sooooo much better there.

We knew that Christine and Jeff would be a joy to work with on their wedding day, and guess what, they were! We actually shot their wedding last week, but then realized as we were working on their blog teasers that — horrors! — we had not put up photos from their engagement session! D’Oh!

I love the picture on the stairs. The light on the couple and the absence of light on the stairs are great. Great view and well done 🙂
