Kay and Brian’s Wedding – Los Gatos Opera House

I’ve known Kay for years from swing dancing, and not too long after I became a professional photographer she told me if she ever got married, that I’d be shooting her wedding. Well, that day came.

After a Fast and Furious storm Friday, Saturday turned out to be a perfect day to get married for Kay and Brian.

It was a small, intimate affair at the Opera House in Los Gatos, with a little over 100 guests.

We got there early to catch some getting-ready shots, and then promptly went into their scheduled formal portraits hours before the ceremony. It was an excellent way to get the needed family photos out of the way so that Kay and Brian could actually mingle with their loved ones soon after the ceremony, which, indicative of their personalities, included a couple of rounds of Janken (Paper, Rock, Scissors), and a faux “I lost the rings” sequence that had everyone in stitches.

The reception began with Brian surprising Kay’s relatives with a heartfelt toast in their native tongue. Then, of course, came the feasting and the dancing!

It was truly a pleasure and an honor to cover their wedding, and we wish them all the very best in their lives together.
