I thought SweetSmile was a Swing Dance site
Welcome to the brand new SweetSmile.com!
In the beginning, this was my personal website. I decided on the name sweetsmile after heaing a song by the neo-swing group, Indigo Swing.
Later, the site underwent a transformation when my friend Danielle and I decided to teach lessons and DJ swing music for weddings and parties.
Now that we no longer do that, I’ve decided to jump on the blog bandwagon.
Anyway, for those of you visiting because you thought you’d find information on Swing Dancing/Lindy Hop, have no fear — here’s a “legacy” post:
Swing Dancing/Lindy Hop is alive and well in San Francisco
In fact, the San Francisco Bay Area boasts one of the biggest population of swing dancers in the world — at least that’s what I’ve heard.
The big revival hit its peak in 1998-99, basically when I started Lindy Hopping. Back then, classes were so crowded at Swing Central that one would never be able to rotate through the entire class!
These days, the scene is quite a bit more…shall we say, manageable.
Still, you can go out swing dancing almost every day of the week.
